The Rico Children’s Group will be conducting a fundraiser on Friday, April 4th, 6:00 PM, at the Rico Hotel to raise money for a playground for Jones Park.
The Town received a $15,000 grant from Great Outdoors Colorado to help purchase the playground.

Please remember that the Town has adopted an ordinance banning dogs-at-large. A dog at large is defined as “a dog that is not on the property of the Owner and is not connected to the Owner by a leash.” Town Hall appreciates the cooperation of dog owners.
Friendly Reminder: All dogs are required to be registered with the Town. Contact Linda Yellowman (970) 967-2861 to obtain dog tags.
The Town Board meets regularly the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM.
The Planning Commission meets regularly the last Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM.
The Town Board adopted the Master Plan amendment submitted by Rico Renaissance after conducting a public hearing on March 19th, 2003.
The Rico Renaissance Amendment is now Section IX of the Master Plan.
The Master Plan Amendment proposal can be viewed at www.ricocolorado.org and at the Town Hall.
Currently, the Planning Commission is working on Town initiated updates and changes to the Rico Regional Master Plan. The Master Plan is a community document and the Planning Commission and Town Board appreciate citizen input.
The Town Board on 1st reading adopted the proposed amendments to the Rico Land Use Code after a public hearing was conducted on March 19th, 2003.
A second public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, April 16th, 2003.

The Town has submitted grant applications to the State Historical Fund and the Department of Local Affairs for Phase II funding of the Rico Courthouse Restoration Project.
Phase II work will restore the original entries and windows, repair masonry damage and correct conditions that have led to masonry deterioration, waterproof the foundation and reinstall the landmark flagpole that once graced the top of the building.
The Town is planning to conduct informational meetings and public hearings in the near future regarding two issues of community importance: the Downtown Development Authority and centralized sewer projects. Once the meetings are scheduled, they will be advertised accordingly in the Rico Sun-Times, the Post Office, Town Hall, the monthly newsletter, and at www.ricocolorado.org.
The Ride-the-Rockies bicycle tour will be coming through Rico on June 15th. The last Ride-the Rockies tour was a big success for local non-profits and community organizations interested in raising money.
