Master Plan Update Underway
The Rico Planning Commission is currently in the process of updating the master plan. The existing Rico Regional Master Plan was adopted in 1996 and designated areas desired for development as well as areas desired for open space protection in the greater Rico area. The 1996 Rico Regional Master Plan also stated many goals, such as conducting studies, enacting regulations, and improving the water system. Many of the 1996 goals have been accomplished and the 1996 Master Plan must be updated. Also, the Town recently approved a master plan amendment for future development of the Rico Renaissance land holdings which creates a need to update the master plan document.
Recreational planning information will also be incorporated into the master plan document. The public is invited and encouraged to attend these meetings. Once a complete document is prepared, the Planning Commission will schedule a public hearing on the document before making a recommendation to the Rico Board of Trustees.
The Planning Commission will be working on the Master Plan at a special meeting on Monday, February 9th, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Hall.
