2001 Colorado Big Game Hunting Seasons & Information

• Rico is located in Colorado Game Unit #71
• ALL deer licenses are draw only (the application deadline was April 3, 2001). There are no over-the-counter deer licenses available.
• Muzzleloading Season for elk and deer in Unit 71 is September 8-16 (Both elk and deer are draw only).
  
• Archery Season for Elk and Deer in Unit 71 is August 25-September 23 (Deer are draw only, either-sex elk licenses are available over-the-counter).
• Regular Rifle Seasons:
• 1st Season, October 13-17, separate limited elk only, by draw only
• 2nd Season, October 20-26, combined deer & elk (deer by draw only, over-the-counter bull elk available)
• 3rd Season, November 3-9, combined deer & elk (deer by draw only, over-the-counter bull elk available)
• 4th Season, November 10-14, combined deer & elk (deer by draw only, over-the-counter bull elk available)
• Bear Seasons: Deer and elk hunters can buy an over-the-counter bear license for use during their deer or elk season
